Stats Guide - Attack

The Attack (or "atk-ATK") stat is a classic stat in a lot of RPG games.
They are your root damage: all multipliers/reducers are based on your attack stat.

Here on SoulWorker, your damage dealt are calculated based on a range of a minimum and a maximum attack value: the Min. ATK is equal to 80% of the Max. ATK. Each time your attack is increased by a gear sub-stat, a buff (either flat or a percentage) or any other kind of buff which actually increases this stat, it is actually added to the Max. ATK value; 80% of any ATK buff will go as min. ATK.

Also note that adding ATK to your stats also adds some Crit DMG. Actually, 80% of the added ATK also goes as Crit DMG bonus.

The bonus of ATK based on a percentage modifier will apply to your basic attack only, not on your overall damage. Dur to that, percentage bonuses for ATK are not worth using in most cases.
Please note though that having your character gaining one level will increase the percentage buff's efficiency. Moreover, this buff won't be the same depending on your character (ie. Iris vs Jin).

Note: For Haru players, her Arena Rush (self buff) and Frenzy Awakening skills will add an attack buff which applies to your overall damage, not on your basic attack only! This can be identifiable by the fact your ATK stat doesn't change whenever you get the self buff only (easily noticeable by using her Awakening skill, since it doesn't boost your ATK by any other way than this one unlike the Arena Rush, which also buffs Party's ATK and this buff applies on native ATK values).
This also applies to Iris' Frenzy Awakening and Ephnel's Swift Stab (Extension "Damage Up") too. However, it doesn't apply the same way on Ephnel's Support Call skill, Jin's Frenzy/Frenzy Awakening buffs and for Lilly's passive SG buff: those apply on your native ATK values. The same thing occurs for other passive skills modifying your ATK.
About the Desire Awakening skill, its ATK buff applies to overall damage as well.

In case of a choice to make between stats to add, even though the Attack constitutes your root damage, this stat loses strength among other multipliers in terms of long-term fights.
